I would like to declare that this format should not automatically be written off. The 5PE can serve as “training wheels” for a few hesitant writers (and certainly for students in developmental writing courses found in many community colleges). Personally, I didn’t realize till second year of university that i really could split a point that is single into multiple paragraphs. I once wrote a 10 page paper with only two body paragraphs!
